Why is it free?

Because a journal should be like a notebook: you write in it, and it's yours. No subscription, no locked features, no "premium" deck. If Pip earns a place in your practice, the tip jar is in Settings — that's the whole business model.

No AI. On purpose.

Pip doesn't interpret your cards, and it never will. The classic upright and reversed keywords are there when you want them, but the reading is yours. Nothing you write is used to train anything, because nothing you write ever leaves your phone.

The full Rider–Waite–Smith deck, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909, is in the public domain — Pip carries all 78 plates in their original color.
